About Rockland County Criminal History

Rockland County criminal records are divided among local police, the Sheriff, village and town justice courts, the County Clerk, and New York State agencies. We built this private reference resource to make those lines easier to follow. Readers can identify the office that holds a report, case file, booking entry, or state record and then use the official request channel.

Why We Built This Site

New York does not place every record in one public search. Rockland Sheriff-Corrections creates county booking and custody files, while police departments retain their own incident and arrest reports. The County Clerk and each local justice-court clerk hold the filed case record. The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS), Office of Criminal Justice Records maintains fingerprint-linked history for personal review, and the New York State Sex Offender Registry publishes the information state law permits. We organize the official contacts, portals, costs, and request steps without treating those distinct records as interchangeable.

What You Will Find Here

  • Record guides: how criminal court case records are searched and read in Rockland County
  • Agency contacts: where to reach Rockland Sheriff-Corrections, the courts, and the relevant state systems
  • Official check steps: how DCJS fingerprint-based Personal Record Review differs from a public court search
  • Record sealing help: how New York sealing routes connect to the court that entered the disposition

What We Cannot Do

This is a privately run reference site. We have no connection to Rockland County, any New York court, police department, sheriff's office, or state agency. That creates firm limits:

  • We cannot run an official background check or pull a criminal record for anyone
  • We cannot file record-sealing applications, FOIL requests, or other paperwork on your behalf
  • We cannot issue certified copies of any criminal record, court document, or rap sheet
  • We cannot give legal advice or explain how a specific charge or case applies to you
  • We cannot guarantee that every phone number, fee, or address listed on this site is current right now

An official copy must come from the office that maintains it, such as the Sheriff, the court clerk, or DCJS. We identify the route, but cannot issue the document.

Search Partners

Outside providers power search boxes shown on some pages. Each provider controls its service, prices, and results. A paid signup reached through one of those tools may produce a referral fee that supports the operation of this resource. We neither set the provider's charge nor determine what its search returns.
